Bakiga Lodge Bwindi is perched above a picturesque valley and offers visitors an authentic African experience with stunning views of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This high-quality African eco-lodge is located in the Ruhija sector of Bwindi National Park, just a 10-minute drive from the Ruhija Gorilla Tracking meeting point. Please note that the lodge is situated on steep terrain.

Our top priority is your comfort, providing warm Ugandan hospitality and excellent cuisine. The lodge features 12 spacious cabins, each self-contained with ensuite bathrooms. All cabins have private balconies offering spectacular views of the forest, and unlimited WIFI internet is available throughout the lodge.

About Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, located in southwestern Uganda, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its biodiversity and dense rainforest. Spanning over 321 square kilometers, the park is home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, making it a prime destination for gorilla trekking. The forest, often referred to as “impenetrable” due to its thick undergrowth, offers sanctuary to more than 120 mammal species, including elephants and antelopes, as well as 350 bird species and numerous butterflies and plants.

The park’s rugged terrain, characterized by steep ridges and valleys, provides a challenging yet rewarding experience for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Bwindi is also home to the Batwa pygmies, one of the oldest indigenous tribes in Africa, who offer cultural tours to visitors. Conservation efforts within the park have not only protected wildlife but also enhanced community livelihoods through eco-tourism initiatives.
